Many people think that because they have purchased a photograph, they have the
right to make additional copies. This is not true. The "Copyright Law" is a
federal law that is designed to protect the interest of artists, composers,
writers and photographers. It says that the creator of a work owns the exclusive
rights to make and sell copies of that work. This means that ONLY the
photographer who took your portraits can make additional copies.
A professional photographer invests a lot of time and money into continuing education, state of the art equipment, and has your finished portraits printed by the finest professional labs in the country. Please do not compromise the quality of a professional product by having discounted copies made. Doing so not only takes income away from the artist, but also damages the reputation of the photographer. Thank you for your understanding.
I would like for you to reflect on this for a moment before you scan, or help yourself to an image from my website... The more images that are lost to this type of action the less I will have posted for others to enjoy. Don't be the one to ruin it for everyone if you like it enough to use it, buy it!
If you still don't understand here is a link to the government site that explains it better.
Thank You,
